The 8.3-inch MIB2 display appears on later A4L, A5 and Q5L builds and is the widest of the MIB family. Resolution is higher, so the interface output is scaled to match rather than stretched - CarPlay fills the panel at its native aspect instead of leaving bars at the sides.

MIB and MIB2 units put the radio in the glovebox with a separate display. We transfer LVDS and power from the back of the radio and decode CAN there, which is why the MMI interface and DIS keep their original functions.
