MMI 3G in the A4, A5 and Q5 runs from 2009 to 2015 with a 6.5 or 7-inch display. The radio and screen are separate units on these cars, so we take CAN at the air-conditioning panel and transfer LVDS plus power from the back of the radio. No dashboard trim is cut, and the MMI dial and DIS display carry on as before.

How it connects: CAN at the air-conditioning panel; LVDS and power from the back of the radio. Nothing is flashed, nothing is coded, and the factory menu is never overwritten - CarPlay and Android Auto simply become an additional source the driver selects.
