CarPlay / Android Auto Interface for BMW & MINI CIC
Wireless CarPlay/Android Auto, Camera and A/V interface compatible with select BMW and Mini equipped with the CIC infotainment system.
Vehicle system: BMW CIC (iDrive, 2009-2013)
CIC is the second-generation iDrive unit used across the 2009-2012 range, including the E60 5 Series and the F10/F11 that followed it. The factory system is competent but closed: no CarPlay, no Android Auto, and a navigation update that costs more than this interface. We take CAN at the head unit and loop the LVDS, so the CIC menu, the iDrive dial and the on-board computer all stay in charge.
BMW head units are addressed over the factory CAN bus and the video path is tapped at the LVDS link that feeds the screen, so the car keeps its own menu structure and we simply add a second source the driver can switch to.

How it connects: CAN at the CIC head unit; LVDS loop-through; AUX cable and microphone included. Nothing is flashed, nothing is coded, and the factory menu is never overwritten - CarPlay and Android Auto simply become an additional source the driver selects.
